HARDWARE AND NETWORKING

Computer hardware is the physical part of a computer, including the digital circuitry, as distinguished from the computer software that executes within the hardware. The hardware of a computer is infrequently changed, in comparison with software and data. Most computer hardware is not seen by normal users. It is in embedded systems in automobiles, microwave ovens, electrocardiograph machines, compact disc players, and other devices. Personal computers, the computer hardware familiar to most people, form only a small minority of computers (about 0.2% of all new computers produced in 2003).

Computer networking is the engineering discipline concerned with communication between computer systems or devices. Communicating computer systems constitute a computer network and these networks generally is composed of multiple connected computers and network devices that communicate over a wired or wireless medium to share data and other resources. The size and scalability of any computer network are determined both by the physical medium of communication and by the software controlling the communication (i.e., the protocols).

Examples of networks are the Internet, or a small home/office local area network (LAN) with two or more computers connected with standard networking cables connecting to a network interface card in each computer. All modern aspects of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) are computer-controlled through netowork, and telephony increasingly runs over the Internet Protocol, although not necessarily the public Internet.

Terminal Server & Thin Client

A terminal server is a specialized computer which aggregates multiple communication channels together. Both physical and virtual resources can be provided through a terminal server: centralized computing can provide multiple users access to a remote virtual operating system. There are two contemporary models of centralized computing: in one, the terminal server provides a Windows or Linux desktop to multiple user terminals. A client of a terminal server is referred to as a thin client. Software clients used in the teleworking model are known as remote desktop applications; however, these remote desktop applications are also used in the thin client model as well.

We offer you a free consultation to help you walk on this journey together with us in using legal software. We provide you both Windows and Linux based solution to your needs.

Embedded System

An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions. It is usually embedded as part of a complete device including hardware and mechanical parts. In contrast, a general-purpose computer, such as a personal computer, can do many different tasks depending on programming. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product, or increasing the reliability and performance. Some embedded systems are mass-produced, benefiting from economies of scale.

In general, "embedded system" is not an exactly defined term, as many systems have some element of programmability. For example, Handheld computers share some elements with embedded systems - such as the operating systems and -

microprocessors which power them - but are not truly embedded systems, because they allow different applications to be loaded and peripherals to be connected.
